# KatırPro

> KatırPro is a free app that automatically removes silences and filler sounds (Turkish "eee", "ııı", "hımm") from talking-head videos — an automatic jump-cut tool — and also does plain video cutting (trim start/end, cut out a range, split). It runs entirely on the user's own device: no account, no subscription, no ads, no watermark, and videos are never uploaded. Available for macOS (Apple Silicon, macOS 13+), Windows 10/11 (64-bit), iPhone and iPad (iOS/iPadOS 18+), and as a free Adobe Premiere Pro extension (Premiere Pro 2020+, macOS and Windows). The desktop interface and the website are in Turkish; the iOS app is in Turkish and English.

## Key facts

- Price: free on every platform. No account, card, subscription, in-app purchase or watermark (the iPhone/iPad app has been fully free again since version 1.3.0).
- Privacy: analysis, speech recognition and rendering run on the device. The Mac/Windows app only goes online to check for and download updates (GitHub Releases); the iPhone/iPad app only for a one-time, optional download that enables filler detection. No analytics or tracking.
- Download size: about 560 MB (macOS) and 590 MB (Windows); the speech-recognition model (whisper.cpp) is bundled, so nothing else is downloaded later.
- Default cut settings: silences longer than 350 ms are cut; 80 ms is kept before and 60 ms after each cut so words are not clipped; 5 ms audio fades at every cut point to avoid clicks.
- Export: same container and codec as the source (MP4 → MP4, MOV → MOV, MKV, WebM; audio-only files such as MP3 or WAV stay audio). The output file name ends in "_jumpcut".
- Platform differences: automatic subtitles exist in the Mac and Windows app (styled burn-in, SRT/TXT); the Premiere extension adds subtitles as an SRT file; the iPhone/iPad app has no subtitles. Filler detection and subtitles on desktop are tuned for Turkish speech; on iPhone/iPad filler detection works for Turkish or English. Silence detection works in any language.
- Not a full video editor: no joining of multiple clips, transitions, music, titles, colour grading or speed changes; no XML/EDL project export.

## Features

- Automatic jump-cut: silences (by audio level) and filler words (by on-device speech recognition, whisper.cpp) are detected and cut in one click.
- Word padding: set in milliseconds how much of the previous/next word is kept around each cut.
- Timeline editing: widen, narrow, undo or add cuts by hand, with instant cut preview (no render wait).
- Classic cutting: split at the playhead (S), in/out marks (I/O), trim start/end, delete a piece from the clip lane (desktop 0.2.0, iOS 1.1.0).
- Text-based cutting: select words in the transcript and delete them to cut that part of the video; bring cut words back.
- Vertical formats: 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5 crops that keep the speaker in frame with face tracking; drag to reframe.
- Automatic punch-in: alternating slight zoom (desktop: 105–150 %, default 112 %) on the pieces between cuts to hide jump cuts; per-piece override.
- Loudness: optional normalisation to −14 LUFS (YouTube / Instagram level) on export.
- Subtitles (Mac, Windows): automatic Turkish captions from speech, styleable (font, colour, background, outline, position, words per line); SRT/TXT import and export.
- Premiere Pro extension: analyses a selected clip and builds a new, editable cut sequence without touching the original; optional SRT captions.
